How it all began
1976 is the year Apple was born. However, other successful brands were also founded in this year. While Steve Jobs and Stephen Wozniak were working on their first computer in a garage in Silicon Valley, Michael Wagner was tinkering with his first office chairs in his father’s small chair factory and founded Topstar GmbH together with his wife Christine in June.
At the time, nobody could have imagined the unstoppable rise of the company over the next 20 years.
Topstar to this day
Together with their 3 sons and the former plant manager Franz Gail, Michael and Christine Wagner shaped the company into one of the most innovative seating furniture manufacturers in the industry. Today, around 450 employees and chair enthusiasts develop and produce well over a million chairs a year at the Langenneufnach site.
We have not reinvented sitting, but we have made it significantly better! After 40 years of research, we have developed a patent that keeps people moving while sitting and is now used in millions of office chairs.
