Our sustainability strategy

In the sustainability goals and measures we have formulated, we want to ensure that Topstar continues to make progress on its chosen path as a responsible company.
We are aware that our products have not only positive but also negative environmental and social impacts on our stakeholders along the value chain. We have been able to identify these stakeholders and the mutual influences in detailed analyses. We have set ourselves the goal of improving the sustainability performance of all our activities and the respective stakeholders in the long term and, above all, sustainably.

Through regular contact, personal supplier visits and audits, the progress of these measures is evaluated, the information structure is expanded and adjustments are made. At the same time, we motivate our
stakeholders to contribute to our sustainability activities by suggesting product and process optimisations and material substitutions. This enables us to incorporate numerous experiences from different sectors into our activities and positively influence the results of our measures.

Product responsibility

From the initial idea to the series production of a product, the demand for a long and sustainable product life is equally focussed on ergonomic and design issues. The very fact that we manufacture our chairs for an above-average product service life is in line with the concept of sustainability. In addition, our products are produced using the resource-saving ‘modular principle’. This enables individual components to be replaced quickly and easily in the event of wear or repairs. The modular system can also be used at any time to realise changes in product requirements or an expansion of the product range in a resource-saving manner.

Climate & Resources

Due to climate change and dwindling resources, we are faced with the challenge of organising production in a way that conserves resources. In order to fulfil the complex requirements of our ecological responsibility
we define environmental standards and minimum requirements in the area of environmental management. We are certified in accordance with the internationally recognised ISO 14001 standard and are a member of EcoVadis.
We want to produce durable, environmentally friendly and high-quality furniture. All these values can be found under our roof.

Work & Future

As a family-owned company, we feel particularly committed to our employees. We have been able to meet the challenges of recent years as a team. We consider our employees to be a key success factor for our company. We believe in respect and individual development opportunities. We take a clear stance against discrimination based on ethnic origin, skin colour, language, gender, religion or sexual orientation, for example. Our personnel decisions are based on qualifications, performance records and skills that are necessary for the relevant task and business environment.

The statutory occupational health and safety requirements are only minimum requirements for us. Our aim is to provide every employee with a job that is adapted to their respective activities and individual needs.

Topstar is committed to sustainability. In our collaboration with ECOSPEED, we have found a strong partner who helps us to understand and improve our ecological footprint. Together, we are driving forward the ambitious goal of reducing our CO2 emissions and thus making an active contribution to climate protection. With ECOSPEED’s innovative software, we optimise our processes and ensure precise CO2 balancing in line with internationally recognised GHG standards.
